2) What to Bring on the Boat

We will provide the boat, tackle, rods and the guide. Here are a few things you will need to bring on the boat:

  • Lunch, drinks and snacks.

  • Warm clothes, rain jacket, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

  • Camera.

  • Fishing License (Printed copy. Details on fishing license below).

3) Fishing Licenses

For each person on board who is fishing you will need a BC Tidal Fishing License and Salmon Tag. (Click on link below)

https://recfish-pechesportive.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/nrls-sndpp/index-eng.cfm

You need to have your fishing license (consists of 2 pages) printed and with you when you step onto the boat. No Electronic copies as you will need to immediately record your catch on your license if you want to keep Chinook, Ling Cod or halibut. Non Canadian residents should purchase their fishing license when they arrive in Canada at a vendor business to avoid halibut retention restrictions. Here is a list of a few vendors on your way to Ucluelet where you can purchase your fishing license.

4) What to do with your fish

Your guide will clean and fillet the fish at the end of the day. We will put the fish into heavy duty bags so you can transport them off the boat. You can then take your fish home on ice or you can have a local company in town process and package your fish for transport.

5) What does a typical day look like

We will meet at the Ucluelet Small Crafts Harbour at our agreed start time. In the days leading up to the charter we will let you know where the boat is located on the wharf and the exact meeting location. From there we will go through a little safety briefing. After we leave the harbour we can drop a crab trap or 2 (if desired) and let it soak for the day. We will then make our way to our chosen fishing destination and get right into it. At the end of the day when we are coming back into the Ucluelet sheltered water we will clean the fish, pull up the crab traps (if desired) and take pictures of your catch.
